With more than 30 books published, including collaborations with Gary Smalley, Steve Douglass, and Brother Andrew, Al Janssen provides quality writing and editorial guidance for individuals, ministries and publishers.

Al Janssen is a teacher and writer with more than 40 years of experience. After graduating from Linfield College in 1971 with a degree in Math and Education, Al joined the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ where he was encouraged to use his journalism skills as editor of Athletes in Action magazine. Al also served in various editorial roles for Worldwide Challenge magazine and wrote his first book, Building Bridges of Love.

From 1976 – 1982, Al was Director of Communications and Publications for Pro Athletes Outreach. During that period he wrote One Way to Play Football with 21 NFL players and helped more than 100 professional athletes put their Christian testimonies into personal pamphlets that were used to sign autographs.

Al began his literary services company in 1982. Since then he has authored or co-authored more than 32 books and edited many more. He has worked with companies such as Harvest House Publishers, Multnomah Press, and for 10 years he served as Director of Book Publishing for Focus on the Family.

Since 2001, Al has traveled and ministered in 35 countries. In 2010 he was ordained as a priest in the Anglican Church, and he has received training in Spiritual Direction, Formation and Leadership.

Al and his wife Jo were married in 1977. They have three grown and married children. They reside in Colorado Springs, Colorado and enjoy reading, walking, baseball, and international travel.
